Lockport Caves

Pictured here is what remains of a 5 story building from many years ago. It was the home sight of the first fire hydrant. Sadly, it was due to a fire that this and many other building were destroyed along the Erie Canal. The "caves" of limestone run under this hill. Emily giving daddy kisses.
Waiting to enter the cave.
And here is the heart-warming entrance.....
...but the girls love it! It is way cooler inside the cave than outside.

The selling point for this trip was the "underground boat ride". Yeah...... right. It was ran by a slow trolling motor. The cave was only large enough to allow the boat to go in one direction. Not exactly a thrill ride, but still interesting.

The entrance to the cave looks like something out of LOST...didn't run into anyone from the Dharma Initiative, did you?
