Being Thankful

Are we forgetting to celebrate Thanksgiving? Nope. We're thankful every day!

Why not have it ALL?

Well.... why not? Soon you will see what it looks like to have Thanksgiving, Christmas, AND the 4th of July all at once! Right now, I only have two of the three. It's really FUN!

*PLEASE NOTE: In order to hear the videos, the music on the blog has to be "paused".

A glimps at our morning

Sorry it's so dark. If I re-did the video, it wouldn't
have been original. This was Mya wanting to touch the
snow with her bare toes.

Who would have thought? This cat played and
played in the snow. I have several clips (since I
can only seem to do 30 seconds at a time), but
figured one would be enough to give you the idea.

Looking to the east from the front of our house. The sun is trying to peek through.

I LOVE this picture.
Our back yard, looking north.

Back yard looking east.
This was Matt's coffee from last night, as he was trying to finish putting up lights. It's a good indicator as to how much we got through the night. Sounds like we should be getting even more snow throughout today. Mya can't wait to go and play in it.

Let's clarify....

I don't want anyone thinking we're skipping over Thanksgiving. We are very excited about turkey day. Mmmmm deep-fried turkey! That's the way to go. It's still fall with all the decorations inside the house. I did (for a moment) think about putting up winter decorations when the snow started coming, but quickly reminded myself about Thanksgiving. And besides, we have SO much to be thankful for, we should have more than one day as a reminder that we are very blessed.

It's begining to look a lot like Christmas...

Due to the cold weather, the snow fall, the Christmas music playing non-stop on the radio, and Matt hanging up the icicle lights on the house, it IS feeling like Christmas. Every time it snows... although it's not piling up yet, Mya excitedly will say, "It's almost Christmus!" I think this is going to be a fun year with her.

Family

We had the pleasure of visiting with my parents for a week last week. It was an unexpected trip for all of us. Everything fell into place in a matter of two weeks. Mya and Emily had a wonderful time getting grandma and papa all to themselves. They were spoiled with attention. Thanks again, Mom and Dad, for making the long trip. Sure loved your company!

Happy Halloween!

We had a wonderful halloween! It was windy, and chilly, but Mya really wanted to be a princess... again. We drove to a neighborhood that our friends live in, since we don't have neighbors (we're too far in the country). It took several houses for Mya to warm up and actually ask "Trick or treat?". With all the candy she was getting, she wanted to keep going house to house. It got a little too cold after an hour, so we called it quits. This morning, she asked if we could go "tricker-treating" again, when it got late. Aww.... a full year away :(. Here's some pictures:
