Making Treats

Since we've had our stuff delivered, and settled in a bit, Mya and I have enjoyed baking. We made a batch of Gingersnaps, Peanut Butter Cookies, and Chocolate Cupcakes with sprinkles. Mya calls the sprinkles "sprinklers". She has also had fun riding her tricycle. I took this picture because she was cruising around with three purses. I guess it could be a girl's dream.

30 weeks

Well, we don't have much longer to wait before meeting our new little baby. Not a day goes by that Mya isn't asking to kiss the baby, see the baby, and give the baby hugs. I am still happy we chose to wait until delivery to know whether it will be a boy or girl. A few days ago, for the first time EVER, Mya said she wants a little sister. All along, until that point, when asked, she would just say she wanted a baby. We'll see what we will be blessed with soon enough. Can hardly wait!

Moving Truck Arrives

It was the day we had been hoping for, for over a month. The truck arrived and brought all the things we had left behind. Mya was thrilled! When she would see something of hers, she would scream with excitement. It was better than Christmas! Since that day, we have been settling in, and making our home. Mya has been sleeping in a big bed, and has only fallen out once. She loves the bed. Thanks to everyone for all your prayers and support. It was rough during the waiting period.

Fireworks At Niagara

Last night we enjoyed an special evening together. We went back to the Anchor Bar for dinner, then headed to Niagara Falls to see the fireworks they do every Friday and Saturday night. We found that by staying on the main freeway, the time is cut in half from the way we went before. It only took a little over 20 minutes to get to the Falls. We had a couple hours before the fireworks started, and plenty of daylight, so we walked around the park and saw new and exciting things. As we were heading to the Falls, still miles away, you could see the huge mist! It is so thick, it really could be mistaken as smoke. And it shifts directions in an instant. So neat. I can't post all the pictures I took, but if I have your e-mail, you'll be getting copies. I had a great time with my camera. Casey, remember the time the four of us went to Fort Bragg? It was before you and Tim were married. You know how the guys figured it wouldn't be THAT cold, and didn't bring sweatshirts? Well, apparently the lesson of going prepaired for what could happen, didn't get learned. I brought blankets and warm clothes for Mya, and a warm shirt for me. Matt was so cold! Just brought back memories. I had to laugh. You know, I'm usually the last one ready to go somewhere due to trying to get everything ready not only for myself, but for Mya as well. You know, change of clothes, always a drink and snack, blanket, toys, etc. The little bit of extra time it takes to get these things is so worth it in the end. For Gama Warta: Mya loved seeing the moon last night. Thought we would send what we saw back to you. Thinking of everyone! Enjoy the pictures. -Jaime

Yard Sale

We have hit a couple yard sales in the past week. It's funny, they are so different back here! Some advertise 12 noon-7pm, and we have not found a single one that starts before 8am. Most don't begin until 9:00 or 10:00am. That's the way it should be done, in my opinion. The other funny thing.... they go on Thursday's and Friday's. If you wait until Saturday, most all the stuff is gone! We learned after the first week. Today, we were running errands and came across a yard sale with a Little Tykes climb and slide toy. It was a little faded, but other than that, in great condition. They only wanted $7.00. I would have paid $20. If we were in California, we would have had to bargain for that! We (Mya, Matt and I) cleaned it up, and put it together in no time at all. Mya loves it! Last week, we picked up a cute little wooden stroller for Mya. She has such a fetish with the strangest things. If it were up to here, she would never turn down getting more strollers. Matt found a neat antique (I think it's antique) wash board. I will eventually get to include it in my decor for the laundry room.

Woodlawn Beach

On Sunday, after an afternoon nap after church, we went back to the beach at Lake Erie. It was overcast, and really windy, which made for white-capped waves. Matt was really wishing he had a Kite Board to surf on. I don't know if we mentioned it before, but the water is surprisingly warm here. We all were wearing swim suits, knowing Mya is such a little duck. Matt spent most of the time in the water with her while I took pictures. Mya liked going in pretty deep. There were a couple times that the waves came up and over her head, and scared her a little, but when Matt tried to bring her to shore, she wanted right back in. She had a BLAST! There were a lot of sea-gulls there, and we got to feed them too. It was a little intimidating for me, when Mya would try to throw the food, it would be not more than a foot away from my toes. The birds would get it anyway. We have been enjoying every moment here.

Letchworth State Park

On Saturday, Matt, Mya and I took a drive an hour and a half east from here. We had been recommended this State Park, and wanted to see what it had to offer. It was absolutely beautiful! There are three major waterfalls, one being 107 ft., but too many small ones to count. Mya had fun watching a train cross over a bridge way, way above us. This park has a lot to offer throughout the year. We are planning on going back once Fall sets in. I am wanting to try and capture the colors on the East Coast, and send it back to you!
