The Blessings of Friendship

We were recently introduced to another one of our neighbors. It is an older gentleman and his wife of 66 years. We took him some cookies, and while we were at his house, he showed us around his yard. He has quite the history! He just celebrated his 88th Birthday. He is in great shape! Both Matt and I guessed him to be in his 60's. Anyway, he fell in love with Mya, and spoiled her like crazy. Any flower she liked, he cut it and gave it to her. Then, he took us inside to show us all the wood carvings he does. He's been carving animals for over 20 years...since he's been retired. Here is Mya with a swan he gave her. This gentleman has a small pond in his front yard. It has several large fish, and a BUNCH of bull frogs. He showed Mya how to talk to the frogs (they really talk back!) and also let her feed the fish. She has taken to him quite well. Really, a very sweet couple, and we're so pleased to have met them. The picture of the flowers is what we were sent home with. Isn't it beautiful!

How sweet of your neighbor to befriend Mya and share his flowers and the wooden toy with her.
Mya is one to "steal your heart".
I'm sure Emily will be a "sweetie too" as she grows up.
I'm missing both the girls.
Love you all, your mom
