Problems....

... are apart of life. They are inescapable; woven into the very fabric of this fallen world. You tend to go into problem-solving mode all too readily, acting as if you have the capacity to fix everything. This is a habitual response, so automatic that it bypasses your conscious thinking. Not only does this habit frustrate you, it also distances you from Me.

Do not let fixing things be your top priority. You are ever so limited in your capacity to correct all that is wrong in the world around you. Don't weigh yourself down with responsibilities that are not your own. Instead, make your relationship with Me your primary concern. Talk with Me about whatever is on your mind, seeking My perspective on the situation. Rather than trying to fix everything that comes to your attention, ask Me to show you what is truly important. Remember that you are en route to heaven, and let your problems fade in the light of eternity.

Sarah Young

So, I know all this is true. And I am left thinking, "Okay God, so why am I hear then? I know you have a purpose and a plan for my life, but you don't want me to do anything but grow in my relationship with you. That's it?" Then He tells me that being with Him is step one. As He grows me into His likeness, He changes me from the inside out. He shows me how to look at others the way He does. To look at situations the way He does. To help the way He would. Touching the hearts of others.... because that is what truly, ONLY matters. So Lord, I will take this first step. To remain in You alone. To let you do the work around me. And when you say,"Time to help Me in what I have started, my dear one." I can respond with the attitude that you have grown in me of thankfulness and gratitude... just to be Your helper on Your mission to save Your people.
Thank You, Father. Thank You.

I Just love Sarah Young. She is so inspirational. Do you have Jesus Lives or Jesus Calling. They are both wonderful devotionals.
